Now that 1981 is further away from us than 1948 was from 1981, this roadside cafe is an intriguing museum piece in its own right. They’re at a service station that has become frozen in time and infected by visitors from 1948. He’s also arrived on the scene first – which is contrary to all known “whatever Sapphire and Steel and Silver are” protocols. Dapper and seductive Silver has accessorized his standard issue grey suit with a rather shiny waistcoat, probably just to annoy Steel.
etc.Īctually, this is another Sapphire, Silver and Steel adventure. The twenty first century would apparently see Big Finish audio adventures starring David Warner and Susannah Harker… but vis brevis etc.
Hammond tradition of not really explaining stuff at all reaches its defining apotheosis in this final outing for Joanna Lumley and David McCallum as Sapphire and Steel.
